Who belongs to the NHCA?
We are a mix of strategic affiliations of both individuals, and organizational members that are drawn from diverse backgrounds within the Natural Healthcare arena. We endeavor to bring together a broad spectrum of skills and extensive experience as practitioners, manufacturers, educators, researchers and advocates, in the area of Natural Healthcare.
We also actively encourage members of the public who are concerned about current issues affecting the Natural Healthcare sector, to support us and join Friends of NHCA.
The NHCA is a national organization and we are aiming to establish branches in every state. If you would be interested in representing the NHCA at State Level contact us on admin@nhca.com.au
The NHCA relies on membership subscriptions, voluntary practitioner levy and donations to fund the organization's activities. It is also entirely manned by voluntary staff, who have been working pro bono since mid 2003. We need your support to get to the next level !

Why the need for the NHCA?
On numerous occasions over the past ten years, the Government has expressed a desire to be able to communicate with just one representative group on issues related to natural healthcare, that is objective and un-biased, and it is the desire of the NHCA, if given the mandate, to become that body.
Some practitioner groups have repeatedly taken the position that they do not see a need for a Professional Registration model for the industry, and the NHCA believes this is a very backward looking position. It is our belief that Registration is inevitable, and necessary, and that Natural Health Care Professionals need to be involved in the development of this model - rather than having it imposed upon them.
There are still outstanding issues with the the Expert Committee recommendations, from 2003, uncertainty about the real role that Codex may play in years to come, and in light of the growing trend of integrative medicine, by the mainstream medical profession, a need to claim recognition for the role that Natural health care practitioners fulfill. The NHCA believes there has never been a greater need for our industry to have a democratically elected and UNITED voice.
